About the authors:

Judy Lev (Labensohn) is an American-Israeli writer from Cleveland, Ohio, living in Israel since 1967. Her first book, Our Names Do Not Appear, a memoir (2023), is about the legacy of silenced childhood grief. Bethlehem Road: Stories of Immigration and Exile, published by She Writes Press in October 2025, is a collection of twelve fictional immigrant stories that transpire on Jerusalem’s iconic street during the late 20th century. Lev worked as a social worker with bereaved families in 1973. In the 90s, she guided tourists and created programs at Neot Kedumim, The Biblical Landscape Reserve in Israel. A pioneer in teaching creative writing in Israel, Lev founded The Writing Gym and The Writing Pad. Her essays and stories appear in literary journals, such as The Kenyon Review, anthologies--The Best of Moment Magazine and The Best of Creative Nonfiction, and college writing textbooks--Other Words, from UMass Writing Program.  Lev lives in Haifa where,…
